Various - Rock A Shacka Volume 16: Orange Street Special (Rock A Shacka) CD

Another of those Rock A Shacka releases from Japan, this one concentrates on some of the more obscure rocksteady and late ska tunes produced by Lindon Pottinger and his wife Sonia for their Gayfeet, Gaydisc, Sep and Golden Arrow labels in the late sixties. Top quality stuff, most never re-issued before in any format. Early tunes from Glen Brown as part of Lloyd & Glen and Junior Murvin as Junior Soul, some great instrumental cuts and of course Johnny & The Attractions’ storming original reggae version of Let’s Get Together, later recorded by Te-Track for Augustus Pablo.
